Our Work
At Cascadia Homesteads we build complete projects in our shop and transport them to your site throughout the San Juan Islands.
On Orcas Island we also build small site-built homes up to 2,000 sq. ft, as well as offering excavation services.

Doe Bay, Orcas Island
Guest Cabin and Bathhouse
The guesthouse is a 14'x24' footprint with a living room and bedroom. The roofline was to designed to match a turn of the century homesteaders cabin that we removed in the same location, keeping a connection to the past.
The ceiling has chunky exposed rafters of local Doug Fir felled and milled on site, with a very efficient SIP(Structutally insulated panel) roof.
The bathhouse has the same timber roof with slim 8" SIP panels and full 1" fir board siding. The interior features a local custom built VG Fir cabinet and deluxe porcelain sink, as well as a classic built-in tub with tiled walls.
Sea Acres, Orcas Island
12x30 Cabin
Built at Cascadia Homesteads shop and installed as a temporary cabin, this 360 sq ft home has a full bathroom and kitchen as well as a generous bedroom. The bath fetures a stacked washer dryer, on-demand water heater, sink and shower. A simple classy kitchen makes this a comfy forest dwelling.

Shop Expansion
Take a look at this project. We expanded our shop space to include a much larger covered area for working out of the elements year round. With two bays 50' long and 22' tall we can accommodate cabin builds up to 40' long and 15' tall. Working out of the elements, we keep our tools and materials dry while staying connected to the forest surroundings that inspires us so much.
This project can triple our production.
